Description
The LeafCares sample tray is an essential accessory for analysing leaf tissue samples with the F-series scanner (not available for the E-series). Spread your leaf sample in the tray and rest the scanner over different spots to scan the sample correctly.
Why a separate tray
Leaf tissue samples are thin (under 2 mm). In the standard tray used for soil and feed, the infrared light would pass through the leaves and read part of the surface below. The LeafCares tray has a surface that lets the scanner measure only the leaves.
Care
Proper cleaning of the white tray matters for good analyses: rinse it with clean water, without detergents. Do not use this tray for soil or feed samples, to avoid contaminating the surface. The tray may tint slightly over time with use; this does not affect the analyses.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the standard sample tray for leaves?
No. Leaf samples are thin, so the infrared light would pass through and read the surface below. Use the LeafCares tray for leaves and keep the standard tray for soil and feed.
How do I clean the tray?
With clean water, without detergents. Slight tinting over time is normal and does not affect the analyses.
