Description

The calibration cap is an essential accessory for maintaining the performance of your AgroCares scanner. Choose the cap that matches your device: E-series or F-series.

Why the scanner needs a calibration cap

All technical instruments gradually deviate from their original standard over time, a phenomenon known as drift. Wet-chemistry laboratories manage it by measuring blank samples with known concentrations and adjusting their calibration lines. Sensor technology needs its own method: AgroCares uses calibration caps with a known spectral signal, measured when the scanner is switched on and between measurements. If drift is detected, an algorithm corrects it automatically. Calibration takes only a few minutes.

Care

The cap has two sides, a white side and a yellow side, and both must be kept clean. The white side can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. The yellow side is sensitive to moisture and rough brushes: do not expose it to water or abrasive materials. Always make sure the scanner is clean before placing it on the cap. A cap that is not properly maintained may need to be replaced.

A calibration cap is included with every new scanner; this page is for replacements.
